Brother Jon was a chef and served in the Peace Corps for many years. From 2011 to 2016, Jon was very active in the mission and ministry of Stepping Stone Mission. We remember Jon as a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus and formidable foot soldier for God. He served our homeless brothers and sisters every Saturday, delivering both food and the Love of Jesus. Jon was also a cell group leader who led efforts at Stepping Stone’s rehabilitation and spiritual leadership retreats and supervised some of the work done by others.
Jon became a trustee for Stepping Stone and go-to leader for Pastor Song, Sharon, and our homeless brothers. He served in the Stepping Stone Choir Team, routinely brought other brothers into the ministry, and helped in countless other ways.
A relative of Jon’s described him as genuinely excited about his participation in the Lord’s work. While we greatly miss Jon and are saddened that he is no longer with us, we rejoice that he is home and in peace with our Father. And, of course, we are very thankful to the Holy Spirit for inspiring Jon to be a blessing to all of us during his time with us.
